Ernest J. Lee, Jr.

Ernest Lee, trustee of the
Pompano Beach Police and Firefighters Pension Fund, passed away
December 30, 2010. Ernie was first appointed to the board as a
city appointee in 2005, serving 6 years. Every one of us who knew
Ernie and worked alongside him will remember him with great
affection and admiration. He offered his time and expertise to
the pension fund and was always ready to help.
When Hurricane Wilma left us
without a place to meet, Ernie, as a member of the Elks Club, was
able to secure a place for us to meet. His charm, wit and loud
cell phone always added levity to the monthly meetings.
Ernie will be remembered for
many things – he has left behind a very real legacy: his service
to others. He was dedicated to serving his community. In addition
to serving as a Trustee of the Pompano Beach Police and
Firefighters Pension Fund, he was a member of the Pompano Beach
Power Squadron, Florida Fishing Foundations, St. Coleman’s Men‘s
Club, American Legion and the Elks Club. Ernie was very special
and will leave a lasting impression. Ernie, we’re really going to
miss you.
